Cookies and Cream Cheese Brownies

Cream Cheese Layer:
250 grams cream cheese
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Brownie Layer:
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 packet (12) crushed Oreos



Method:


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C, and grease brownie tray (28 x 20cm).
  2. Beat the ingredients for the cream cheese layer in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugars and cocoa well.
  4. Beat in the two eggs, one at a time.
  5. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  6. Pour brownie layer mixture into brownie tray.
  7. Spread cream cheese layer mixture over the top, and drag toothpick through the topping to create a swirl effect.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
